Cottage Notes:

  1. Stairs: The stairs in this cottage are narrow and spiral leading over the inglenook fireplace and are typical of a cottage of this era. These stairs may be unsuitable for anybody who is not good on their feet.
  2. Stair Gates: This cottage has a door at the bottom of the stairs and a stair gate at the top so is ideal for toddlers and children.
  3. Uneven Floor: The Living Room floor is the original 17/18th Century brick floor and is uneven in places. There are also steps through the ground floor.
  4. Parking: Parking for this cottage is on-street. Whilst there are generally very few parking difficulties within 200 yards of the cottage, we cannot guarantee parking availability on the public highway.
  5. Open Fire: We regret that we cannot allow the lighting of open fires in this cottage. The inglenook fireplace is a non-working feature.
  6. General: Garth Cottage is a 17th Century fisherman's cottage. It is a grade 2 listed building that has been sympathetically restored and updated within the boundaries of what is permitted in line with it's listed status. It is not a large cottage and space is well utilised - there is restricted space around the toilet for instance.

Great Welcome & great hosts. First few days were lovely weather, unfortunately turned bad towards the end so didn't see too many places. However all that didn't matter as we saw at least 100 seals at Horsey!!! There was over 75 laying within the rocks sunning themselves and another 30 odd on the sand bank. Plenty more heading into shore. Winterton on Sea and Horsey are the best beaches we have seen and I am from Australia so have seen a few. Lovely stay, thank you.
